Sail with SEAS — the best value on the Hudson!
SEAS members may participate in "open sails,” social events, speaker sessions, fleet maintenance/instruction and larger sailing outings. If you want to know more about joining our organization, reach out to us at seaswestchester@gmail.com
Basic Sailing Courses: We have classes starting in May, June, July, and August. The sooner you take a class, the more time you will have for sailing with us throughout the rest of the sailing season. Register online now!
Practice Sailing Sessions (called “Open Sails”): To allow our members frequent opportunity to practice sailing, we hold open sails on weekends, weeknight evenings, and even some weekdays during the day. You must be a current member who has passed our Basic Sailing Class or demonstrated equivalent skills. Experienced sailors join online now! We post our open sails on Meetup throughout the season.
Special Sailing Events: Together with our sister SEAS chapters (Bergen, Morris, Monmouth) we have fun sailing days with food, socializing, and of course sailing.
Open Houses: We hold occasional open houses in Spring where we give tours of our Sleepy Hollow boat house and provide information about our organization and courses.
Parties: Our potluck holiday party in December is always fun, and we welcome interested sailors to come and get to know us. We have other parties for members throughout the season.
Sail boats between our locations: In Spring we move boats from Sleepy Hollow to Ossining, and we move them back in the Fall. This is a fun, social sailing event!
Sailing vacations: We team up with other SEAS chapters to sail in the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond!
Community events: We show up for community events around Sleepy Hollow, such as the Music Fest, Mermaid Fest, and the Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow Farmers Market (The TaSH). Look for our tables. If you’re already a SEAS member, volunteer to help us meet the community.
Work parties: There is always work to do, and we make it fun by doing it together! This includes boat maintenance and repair, laying down moorings, and helping out the yacht club where we keep our keelboat.
Instructor: Any member can work towards being a SEAS Sailing Instructor, we will teach you. Experienced sailing instructor who wants to to help? Contact us!
