Society for the Education of American Sailors
For more than 30 years, SEAS Westchester has offered low-cost sailing experiences along the Hudson River.
As your local chapter of the the Society for the Education of American Sailors, our all-volunteer team of instructors, dock-masters, and water assistants have educated more than 2,000 sailors in the greater Westchester area. SEAS Westchester is a non-profit committed to safe, affordable, environmentally-conscious use of the Hudson River for recreational sailing.
Our colorful fleet of Sunfish and Phantoms adds a picturesque touch of activity and summer fun to the reviving waterfront. We conduct classes and launch from Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow, NY, and venture on open sails as far north as Croton Bay!
Our affordable Basic Sailing Course is $269, which includes six classroom and water sessions, equipment usage, and season’s SEAS membership (upon course completion). Please learn more about our classes and the physical demands of sailing here. For experienced sailors, annual membership costs just $80. All SEAS members can join summer “open sails” and year-round social events. SEAS Westchester is the best value to sail on the Hudson — register now!
For individuals who want to learn to sail on a keelboat, where the concepts are the same but the boat size differs, SEAS Westchester provides just the thing. Stay dry and get hands-on experience on a 24’ sloop.
SEAS Westchester is proud to partner and sail with our sister chapters in the Society for the Education of American Sailors— providing affordable sailing in the NY / NJ area for sailors of all skill levels, as well as those interested in learning how to sail.
